What are the responsibilities and job description for the Exercise Physiologist / Fitness Center / PRN Days position at Catawba Valley Medical Center?
Summary of Performance Expectations:
Responsible for the implementation of exercise programs for fitness members. Teaches members proper principles of exercise and proper use of exercise equipment. Leads group exercise land classes and pool classes. Conducts member sign-up in a professional manner and performs front desk and maintenance tasks as needed. Provides personal training services.
Education & Credentials:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or other health-related field[MO1] .
- BCLS for healthcare providers or completion of BCLS from the American Heart Association within one month of employment date.
- Nationally recognized personal training or medical fitness certification ( ie : ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE) within 3-months of employment date.
Preferred
Master’s degree in exercise physiology or related health field.
Work Experience:
Required
Two years of experience in fitness and exercise conditioning. Experience in patient education with an adult population and/or basic course work in adult education. May consider a successful internship towards two years of experience.
Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Preferred
3 years of experience in medical fitness.
