What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst / Finance / Full Time position at Catawba Valley Medical Center?
Summary of Performance Expectations:
Possess strong accounting as well as reimbursement skills for cost reporting, Medicare and Medicaid DSH, Medicare Bad Debts and other reimbursement products. Assists with system-wide operating budget creation and monthly financial reports. Identifies trends and variances in financial reporting. Provides financial analysis and insight regarding profitability of business units and services lines. Performs modeling and forecasting projections as well as return on investment analysis. Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders and ensures timely filing of governmental audits related to reimbursement. Prepares financial and operational surveys.
Education & Credentials:
Required
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business or Finance & HFMA Certified Hospital Cost Report Specialist (CHCRS) eligible. CHCRS Certificate must be obtained within six months of hire date.
Preferred
Masters degree.
Work Experience:
Required
Five or more years of previous experience. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
Preferred
Advanced Excel skills as well of working knowledge of Meditech and Oracle software platforms. Prior experience with cost reporting.
