Catchlight Painting, a highly respected leader in the building and painting industry, is excited to offer a career opportunity for an enthusiastic individual as our full-time Production Manager. This position, based in our operational headquarters, offers the unique opportunity to engage with a variety of project management tasks in a vibrant, fast-paced environment. This is not a remote job; therefore, presence on-site is essential to facilitate the efficient execution and supervision of projects.

The appointed Production Manager will play a crucial role in steering the company's projects towards profitability and excellence. This role supports and oversees the profitable production of painting, carpentry, and handiwork projects, ensuring they are completed to the highest standard, within budget and time constraints.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management.
• Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents, effectively communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, setting and continually managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools, tracking project milestones and deliverables.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals, drafting and submitting budget proposals, and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Recruit, train, and manage painters and other workers, ensuring a high standard of work and timely completion of projects.
• Manage inventory and ensure all resources and equipment are available and allocated appropriately to support production.

Requirements

• Familiarity with paint coatings, specification, application, and troubleshooting.
• Experienced with hiring and training painters with minimal or extensive field experience.
• Inventory and equipment management skills ensuring availability and proper use of assets.
• Strong customer service skills to engage and satisfy clients, ensuring repeat business.
• Collaboration with office manager, estimators, and crew leaders to ensure projects are coordinated effectively.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Ability to lead, develop, and direct team members, including setting and continually managing performance expectations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with adeptness in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels.
• Capability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow, fostering a sense of cooperation and collegiality among team members.
• Advanced problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a demonstrated capacity to be adaptable and responsive in a fast-changing environment.
• Appropriate educational qualifications or comparable practical experience with significant managerial experience in production within a related industry.
