Job Information
Position : Counselor for Asylee and Refugee Support Who Loves Flexibility and Field Work
Location : San Jose, California
Type : Full Time
Visa Sponsorship : We will sponsor visas!
Responsibilities
Provide culturally sensitive, client-centered individual, group, and family counseling and rehabilitation services to asylees and refugees.
Facilitate referrals to community resources and perform case management services.
Develop culturally relevant assessment and treatment plans.
Complete all documentation per Medi-Cal, Santa Clara County, and AACI standards within expected deadlines.
Participate in clinical supervisions, consultations, team meetings, trainings, and on-call after-hours rotation.
Maintain LPS 5150 Authorization certification and provide officer of the day support. (Licensed Staff Only)

Requirements
Licensed in California as a Marriage Family Therapist, Social Worker, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Psychologist.
Open to AMFT / APCC / ASW (MA Unlicensed).
Master’s degree in social work or psychology; or equivalent education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of DSM-V criteria for diagnosing behavioral health illnesses.
Familiarity with trauma-informed and evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT).
Understanding of cultural issues, community resources, and family dynamics.
Ability to exercise independent clinical judgment within the scope of program responsibilities.
Verbal and written fluency in English required; bilingual skills in a second language (particularly Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese) desired but not required.
One year or more of direct clinical experience working with refugees is preferred.
