JOB TITLE: Communications Consultant- contract maternity leave
LOCATION: hybrid in NYC
START DATE: 5/12/2025
DURATION: 6 month maternity leave
HOURS: Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week
Summary:
The Temporary Communications Consultant will support the execution of external and select internal communications and work closely with the Communications Team. This individual will collaborate and coordinate with the Firm’s external PR firm, Marketing Team colleagues and on results and against KPIs and other metrics.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Director of Communications in delivering against the 2025 Communications Plan
- Supporting the development and implementation of multi-channel communications plans in alignment with Firm and business goals
- Supporting the Firm’s media relations efforts with the goal of raising the brand proactively via management of the press office / handling inbounds, facilitating media interviews and developing prep materials for executives as well as capturing and reporting those efforts
- Overseeing daily firmwide media coverage roundup, in partnership with the PR agency of record and acting as final approver on the daily media scan, including escalating potential reputational issues to the Director of Communications
- Managing the day-to-day relationship with the PR agency of record to ensure timely results and effective turnaround on deliverables / requests that support the Firm’s goals and objectives
- Overseeing the Firm’s corporate LinkedIn channel and driving promotion approaches (in alignment and agreement with the Director of Communications), paid amplification and execution for various types of posts
- Managing the Golub Capital Social Impact Accelerator Program (“GCSIA”) and taking responsibility for the effective delivery of the 2025 GCSIA plan
- Providing support for brand focused conferences where media trained spokespeople are present
- Supporting select internal communications and drafting content for quarterly newsletters, including HR and News & Views
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 6 years of experience either agency side or in-house in a similar communications or PR role within financial services
- A holistic approach to communications (both traditional, new media and social media) with an understanding of the most impactful channels to engage with campaign audiences
- Advanced writing capabilities with a demonstrated ability to develop clear and compelling content with precision
- Experience interfacing and developing strong relationships with reporters and media outlets
- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects with quick turnaround times and coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
