What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Aide position at Catered Living at Ocean Pines, LLC?
Responsible for:
· Planning, organizing and implementing activities for assisted living residents and assisting the management of the home.
· Decorates, and un-decorates the home with appropriate holiday decorations to celebrate all holidays.
· Creates a sense of belonging and acceptance for each resident and implements goals for residents, families, and staff.
· Support all policies and procedures for Abbey Manor programs.
· Goes with residents to and from outside activities by way of company van.
· Meets with all new residents and completes a resident profile for each of them.
· Works with the program manager, ED, & Health Service Director to resolve challenges and improve the program. Adjusts schedules of activities as needed to correspond with resident preferences and capabilities at the time.
· Conducts activities that involve residents in purposeful, meaningful, life enriching activities that are function-oriented.
· Conducts activities that involve one on one with residents unable to attend group activities or special needs residents.
· Communicates with residents in appropriate ways that promote choice, independence and responds to each resident’s perception and ability.
· Communicates positively with residents, family members, visitors, staff and professionals regarding the Abbey Manor and its benefits.
