What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onsite Representative: Catering Delivery & Set Up position at Catering by Michaels?
Onsite Representative: Catering Delivery & Set Up:
Catering by Michaels has supplied the Chicagoland area with food-based celebrations and memories for over 40 years. How did that happen, one might ask? Well with the help of people like you! That is, if you are the type of person who thrives in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.
Our On-Site Representatives are more than just delivery drivers, they are our eyes and ears on the ground when it comes to delivering our gourmet food to locations all over the Chicagoland area and beyond. So, get out your driver's license (you'll need a valid one to drive for us) and join us on this journey to map out your career with us.
Job Responsibilities:
Representation in the field. You will be the public face of our company in our logoed uniforms, driving to and dealing directly with the end client for all their needs and questions as they relate to our food and services. That also means you get to see most of the reward from the client for a job well done.
Safety is a top priority. The following are some requirements in that regard:
-A clean driving record. To obtain a copy of your driving record, please visit https://apps.ilsos.gov/drivingrecord/ .
-Vehicle inspections. On top of the yearly state mandated vehicle safety inspections, as a company we also do weekly inspections of all of our vehicles. You will be involved in those inspections and also to be able to notice on a daily basis if there are any problems.
-The ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Since you will be loading and unloading equipment and food from vehicles and carts on a daily basis you will be needing to lift a lot of weight.
-Food handler certification. As our representative some food and catering set up may be done by you. From moving food from our refrigerators & freezers to our refrigerated vans and on-site you will need to be able to maintain that food safety while setting up a visual pleasing buffet.
-Cleaning. Everyone is involved in maintaining sanitation throughout our facility and with all our equipment and vehicles.
Team Player. While this position is for our delivered division specifically, there are often when the whole company needs to be behind one goal or project.
-Packaging food on high production days and holidays
-Possible daily runs to our off-premise events
Catering by Michaels is located in Morton Grove and does deliveries all over Chicago, including downtown. You must be comfortable driving a van downtown.
