Job Description: Morning Childcare and Classroom Aid
Location: Monarch Early Learning Center, Flint, MI
Hours: 12:00 PM-6:00 PM(Additional hours may be available upon request)
Pay: $13-$14 per hour to start

Position Overview:
Monarch Early Learning Center is seeking a compassionate and reliable Afternoon Childcare and Classroom Aid to join our team. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and are looking for a rewarding opportunity to work with young children. The role will involve assisting with the opening of the center, providing care and supervision for children, and helping facilitate a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Close the Center: Assist with the afternoon and closing procedures of the center, ensuring a smooth and safe transition as children leave.
- Afternoon Care: Provide supervision and care for children, including school-age children, in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Bus Supervision: Assist school-age children in unloading the bus and arriving for after-school care.
- Supervision and Engagement: Actively supervise children during their daily activities, ensuring they are engaged in developmentally appropriate activities.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to all licensing and center policies and procedures.
- Family Communication: Communicate effectively with families regarding their child's day and any pertinent information.
- Facilitate Developmentally Appropriate Activities (DAP): Help implement activities aligned with our curriculum that promote early childhood development.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. CDA (Child Development Associate) preferred or willingness to pursue after hire.

Certifications/Training:
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
- TB skin test.
- Willingness to complete certification in blood-borne pathogen training.
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Willingness to complete and maintain professional development hours.

- Ability to engage and interact positively with children.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow all center policies and state regulations.
