Overview
Cates Control Systems, located in Plano, TX, is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Layout / Staging Technician to join our growing team. We are a leading provider of automation solutions and control systems, and we value integrity, commitment, and reliability. As a Layout Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our system integration projects by ensuring proper staging and installation of hardware based on project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Login to the appropriate software database based on the project number as shown on the drawings.
- Check out all hardware from the parts staging area.
- Layout all hardware and materials according to the drawings provided.
- Drill and install all parts onto the back panel.
- Make sure all empty boxes are kept until the job ships.
- Make sure all paperwork for each part is kept with the panel.
- Cut/Hole-punch enclosures according to the provided drawings.
- Install all required hardware on the enclosure.
- Locate and designate any hardware that needs to be “loose shipped” with project.
- Return any unused hardware for the back pan or enclosure.
- Complete the layout check sheet supplied with drawings.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2 years prior experience preferred
- This position requires a significant amount of bending and standing
- Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds at any time
- Ability to read wiring schematic
- UL 508A and NEC experience
- Good project and time management skills
