Position Overview:
As a Layout / Staging Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring hardware and materials are accurately laid out, installed, and organized for various projects. You will work closely with the project team to ensure all components are correctly staged and ready for assembly, contributing to the successful and timely completion of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Log in to the appropriate software database based on project number as shown on the drawings.
- Check out hardware from the parts staging area and ensure all necessary materials are available.
- Accurately lay out hardware and materials according to provided drawings and specifications.
- Drill and install parts onto the back panel as per the design specifications.
- Ensure all empty boxes are retained until the job is shipped.
- Keep track of and organize all paperwork related to each part and ensure it is kept with the corresponding panel.
- Cut and hole-punch enclosures as required by the project drawings.
- Install hardware on enclosures as needed for project completion.
- Identify and designate any hardware that needs to be shipped separately with the project.
- Return any unused hardware for the back panel or enclosure to inventory.
- Complete layout check sheets supplied with the project drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical education is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical components, with the ability to read wiring schematics.
- Experience with UL 508A and NEC standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good project and time management abilities to ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Physical requirements: Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
