Job Summary:
The Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of the Cathedral City Senior Center’s marketing and communication strategies. This role is critical in raising awareness about the center’s programs, services, and mission while fostering community engagement and donor support. The ideal candidate is a creative, strategic thinker with excellent storytelling skills and a passion for improving the lives of seniors in a diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan to promote the center’s programs, events, and services.
- Identify target audiences and tailor marketing efforts to reach seniors, their families, donors, and the broader community.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed.
Content Creation and Management:
- Create compelling content for digital and print platforms, including newsletters, social media, website, press releases, and promotional materials.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all communications.
- Develop a storytelling approach that highlights the impact of the center’s work on the community.
Digital Marketing:
- Manage and grow the center’s social media presence, creating engaging content to build community and increase followers.
- Oversee the center’s website, ensuring content is up-to-date, user-friendly, and optimized for search engines (SEO).
- Design and execute email marketing campaigns to engage members, donors, and stakeholders.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
- Partner with local businesses, media outlets, and community organizations to promote the center’s activities.
- Plan and coordinate marketing efforts for events, including fundraising initiatives and community programs.
- Act as a spokesperson for the center when needed, representing the organization at public events and media opportunities.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Track and analyze marketing metrics to measure the success of campaigns and inform future strategies.
- Prepare reports for the CEO, COO, and board members on marketing performance and goals.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with program staff to understand and promote new and existing offerings.
- Partner with the development team to align marketing efforts with fundraising initiatives.
- Coordinate with volunteers and external vendors for design, printing, or other specialized needs.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, including social media platforms, email marketing software, and website content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Strong graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a talent for storytelling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with the needs and interests of senior populations is a plus.
