Job Description: Client Services Front Desk Admin/Receptionist

Reports To: Office Manager and Director of Programs and Data Management
Overview:Cathedral Kitchen (CK), a nonprofit organization operated for 49 years and primarily funded by private, non-governmental sources, is seeking a motivated and compassionate bilingual (Spanish-speaking) greeter and Front Desk Admin/Receptionist to join our Social Services team. This role is the first point of contact for clients and visitors, offering crucial administrative support to both program and office staff. The ideal candidate will excel in communication, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and effectively handle multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Cathedral Kitchen’s mission is to help people out of food insecurity and champion their pursuit of stability and prosperity. We achieve this through various programs, including our Meal Program, which provides free dinner and social services on weekdays and lunch on Saturdays to individuals and families from Camden and across South Jersey. Our doors are open to all, and during meals, we collaborate with other nonprofit organizations to offer services that help our guests improve their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front Desk & Client Interaction:
- Answer phone calls and direct them to appropriate staff or departments.
- Welcome and assist visitors and guests in the lobby, directing them to the appropriate staff member for appointments or inquiries.
- Distribute meals, snacks, and hygiene items and clothes to clients as needed.
- Connect clients to appropriate program staff as needed.
- Provide basic information about CK and other services to clients and the public.
- Announce daily activities, including lunch times, group sessions, and meetings via intercom.
- Mail & Clerical Support:
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- Stuff and prepare outgoing mail.
- Assist with clerical tasks, including preparing documents, copying, filing, scanning, labelling and laminating materials.
- Provide administrative support to staff, including entering data into spreadsheets, filing and preparing correspondence.
- Inventory & Ordering:
- Monitor office and food pantry supplies, ensuring necessary items are stocked and ordered in a timely manner.
- Maintain organization of office space, pantry, and server room.
- Other Administrative Support:
- Assist with preparation of labels.
- Update and replenish applications, various forms, marketing materials, community resources and menus as needed.
Qualifications:
- Ability to fluently converse in Spanish is required.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexible, warm, welcoming personality.
- Compassion and empathy are a must.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A positive, professional attitude and the ability and desire to work with diverse individuals, including people experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges.
Benefits:
- This job is eligible for health benefits for you and your dependents. Cathedral Kitchen will pay 75% of the cost for you and for each family member. Cathedral Kitchen will also pay 50% of the cost for dental insurance for you and each family member. Eligibility for health and dental benefits begins the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
- Participation in the Cathedral Kitchen Matching 401k program is available after 12 months.
- Paid Time Off (PTO) after 90 days of employment, 15 Days annually
- Cathedral Kitchen is closed on the following holidays if they fall on a weekday, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
- A $50,000 life insurance policy for you will begin after 90 days at no cost to you.

Compensation
· Competitive salary offered: $37,000 - $40,000 annually ($19.00- $20.00 per hour)
· 37.5 Hours per week full-time position
· This is a non-exempt in-person position
