Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transforming spaces and a solid grasp of design fundamentals. In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients taking charge of the design process, crafting presentations, and coordinating the procurement of material for backend operations. This position demands a harmonious blend of creative insight, technical expertise, and project management skills.
Responsibilities
- The primary focus is to secure new interior design projects including interviewing prospective clients on our firm's process and obtaining a signed contract to start new projects
- Lead role in supervising the entire project lifecycle from inception to completion - Conceptual Ideation & Material Specification, Design Presentation, Construction, Communicate with current clients on anticipated lead times, accounting and status updates and final installation
- Present design concepts to clients, incorporating feedback into final designs
- Managing the delivery team to ensure all elements are properly installed and arranged in the client's residence according to the design plan and their satisfaction
- Proficiency in time management skills; multi-tasking on average 30 clients, coordinating contractor and sub-contractor scheduling and job site meetings to ensure project completion
- Draft layouts and specifications for renovations and remodeling projects with special attention to, but not limited to spatial awareness and planning, furniture layout, shape, form and function of a completed project
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, furniture frames, finishes, soft goods, architectural key elements as per each client project and particular to each client design ethos to enhance design offerings
- Competently manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and timelines
Skills
- Management and Administrative knowledge
- Strong understanding of budgeting for interior design projects
- Experience in renovating and remodeling residential or commercial spaces
- Ability to draft detailed plans and specifications for construction purposes
- Strong sales skills to effectively communicate ideas and close deals with clients
- Knowledge of contracts related to interior design services
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for client interactions
- Creative problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for aesthetics
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize high volume workload and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, organizational & multi-tasking skills
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Interior Design
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the Interior Design field
- Proficiency in interior design software including AutoCAD, hand drafting, Studio Designer, Microsoft Office Suite systems and Adobe Photoshop, and reading/full understanding of all construction documents
- Experience with specifying and documenting in FF&E
- NCIDQ certification preferred
- ASID membership
