We offer programs for Boston Public School middle school and high school students, fee-for-service programs for school and youth groups, and leadership development programs for professionals. We also fund our transformational programs by hosting private and corporate events and weddings.
What is the OPPORTUNITY?
The OBP Coordinator reports directly to the Director, Outward Bound Professional (OBP). The OBP Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning and preparation of, then coordinating, the day-to-day operations of OBP programs. The OBP Coordinator will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team whose shared responsibility is that of delivering programming of the highest quality of excellence and safety to adult professional groups.
CSIOBS Professional programs deliver customized adult programs designed to yield high-performance teams, cultivate a positive, supportive, and empowering culture, and form greater trusting relationships amongst colleagues. Set amidst the serene wilderness of our 204-acre island preserve or designed in the location of your choosing, our programs stimulate creative development and incorporate a global perspective to meet the diverse challenges of todays organizations. Courses operate year-round.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of OBP programs including the dissemination and maintenance of first aid kits, assembling and disseminating and collecting instructor information packets, providing water for clients at meals and during the day, initiative gear and equipment; creating day-of mobile phone txt group, (working with kitchen and Events staff to ensure all food for breakfast and lunch are ready,) maintaining OBP Gear (In & Out) and other duties as assigned. This includes coordinating with the per diem OBP staff who may be managing a particular program, to provide logistical and operational support.
- Assist Director with OBP Program Staffing : administration of files and spreadsheets for Per Diem Facilitator employment save-the-date and Offer of Employment requests, confirmations, maintaining all records, providing payroll and mileage for each program.
- Become fluent with Delphi system and Participant Management Database in order to support Director, creating internal forms to communicate client needs, tracking and updating operations and ferry information, etc. to Programs Operations team, managing the OB USA Data.
- Organize, inventory, catalog, and maintain in excellent quality OBP program equipment, including developing systems and expectations for pre and post-program equipment allocation and retention.
- Create, update and provide access to a list of OBP Initiative activity write-ups and equipment database.
- Enter OBP participant data, OBP attendance numbers, Accident / Incident Reports into TIOBEC and OB USA databases.
- Collect post program information including instructor evaluations, attendance forms, and End of Course Reports information. Organize information into both hard copy files and digital records. Forward participant emails requesting more information to Director.
- Assist Director, OBP with tracking per diem employee information, as appropriate.
- Independent decision making in specific situations regarding logistics (boat / food / bathrooms, Site Managers for Program days) and administration.
