We serve tens of thousands of people each year in seven ministries: Marisol Services (for women), Early Childhood Education, Shelter Services, Archdiocesan Housing, St. Raphael Counseling, Family, Kinship, and Senior Services; and Parish & Community Services.

SUMMARY
Assists with general operations of the shelter in a way that helps residents and staff know the infinite dignity they have, given to them by God. Responsible for engaging in the community, faith, solidarity and professional development provided by staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engagement in faith, community, solidarity and professional development provided by Catholic Charities leaders.
- Assist with the daily operations of the shelter, by working at the front desk handing out essential supplies and supporting in resource navigation.
- Live Your Faith: Our missionary program provides an opportunity to deepen your relationship with Christ while actively living out His teachings in the world by organizing and facilitating faith-based activities, such as Bible study, prayer groups, or reflections on Catholic Social teaching.
- Make a Lasting Impact: Through your service, you will directly help individuals and families experiencing homelessness, poverty, and other hardships. You’ll witness firsthand the transformation that can take place when we share the love and mercy of God.
- Build Community: Join a community of individuals who are committed to serving others, to foster community within the shelter and the missionary household.
- Personal Growth: Serving as a missionary with Catholic Charities of Denver is an enriching experience that allows you to grow spiritually, emotionally and personally. It is a chance to challenge yourself, learn new skills and experience the joy of service.
- Implements program objectives and performance standards as directed by supervisor/ management.
- Completes necessary administrative duties (paperwork, etc.) timely and accurately.
- Collaborates with donor development and the Program Coordinator for fundraising.
- Promotes and markets the services to the Catholic Community and Donors
- Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.
- Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates effectively as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing, and problem solving.
- Participates in staff trainings and programs as required.
- Good steward of Agency human, financial and capital resources
- Any other tasks or duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage conflict and crises
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff through application of Agency values
- Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Some college preferred.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Monthly stipend $100 for a total $1000.00
