PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A Resident Life Navigator at Catholic Charities:
- Provide crisis intervention and milieu management to provide a safe, stable, and positive environment.
- Adhere to and enforce shelter rules.
- Answer phone calls including crisis calls and return all messages left.
- Provide information, referral, and advocacy to shelter residents and crisis callers.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Orient new participants to shelter and explain house rules.
- Monitor and check daily chores.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to effectively work with women in crisis situations
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills to enter data, create communications and generate reports
- Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary: $20.00/hr., $1/hr. bilingual differential. Every other Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 8:30pm
Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. Training provided within the first year of employment includes: De-escalation & Safety; Mental Health First Aid; Substance Abuse & Mental Health; Human Trafficking; Trauma Informed Care; and many more.
