Catholic Charities is seeking a Developmental/Curriculum Specialist to join our team! The Mercy Centre Day Habilitation Program offers an alternative model for individuals experiencing medical issues or those experiencing significant issues that limit their ability to be engaged in full day work activities. This program provides recognizes that each individual has their own range of skills and abilities. Program members are provided a variety of activities that stimulate senses, teach functional skills, provide meaningful recreation, and further develop physical abilities.
Primary Responsibilities: Evaluation of data on each Day Habilitation program member and complete the required paperwork necessary for semi-annual reviews. The Developmental/Curriculum Specialist must develop and monitor the development and progress of the goals and objectives. Work closely with the IDT (Interdisciplinary Team) to ensure the individual objectives are accurately documented, collected and filed. The Developmental/Curriculum Specialist will oversee the development and scheduling of goal-oriented activities and curriculum. Will develop and write both individual and group/room schedule. Will oversee and order supplies needed for activities.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- An associate’s degree in human services, healthcare or related field or
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with one years experience in a related setting
- Adult CPR and First aid. Must obtain within three months of hire and renew annually thereafter and maintain throughout employment.
- Must submit to a Criminal Offenders Record Information (CORI) request, a Sexual Offender Registry Information (SORI) request, a clear OIG (Office of Inspector General) check and clear fingerprinting check, which shows no offenses and maintain throughout employment
- Must complete a TB Risk Assessment, prior to hire and maintain throughout employment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for the State of Massachusetts and maintain throughout employment. Must possess and maintain vehicle registration and appropriate insurance coverage throughout employment
