Assistant Director, Emergency Assistance Services
The Assistant Director of Emergency Services will, under general direction and supervision by Director of (EAS), work towards successful implementation of programs addressing emergency needs throughout various sites within the Diocese of Cleveland. Assistant Director will help to identify opportunities for improvement as related to program structure, implementation, staffing models and overall best utilization of department resources. Will play a key role in providing staff trainings, data collection and reporting, volunteer coordination, and supervision of program staff within the Emergency Assistance Department. Will work in collaboration with Director and help to maximize deliverables and impact across service sites.
Responsibilities:
- Assistant Director will support Director in ensuring that the activities of the EAS Department are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
- Will work with Director in continuous assessment and implementation of quality improvement measures for respective Emergency Assistance Services sites and programs (Bishop Cosgrove Center, St. Augustine Hunger Center, St. Elizabeth Center, and Blessed Trinity/Visitation of Mary, Holiday Meals and Grafton Produce Partnership).
- Will work with Director to promote service integration, diminish duplication of services, and ensure quality of care and implementation of best practices to drive impact in each community.
- Will assist the Director in building partnerships and serve as a link between community partners working towards identifying and addressing immediate needs represented in the community. This person may attend continuum of care and other community meetings.
- Will work closely with Director in helping to monitor fiscal performance, data management and help to address and resolve facilities and staffing related matters.
- Oversee EA funding – monitor spending and ensure all sites are operating within the boundaries of spending requirements
- Manage EA databases – provide site trainings and monitor adherence to standards to ensure compliance with reporting requirements
- Support EA funded sites with training to ensure consistency in how funds are administered
- Assist in the collection, preparation, maintenance and compilation of client demographic data and program reports as needed.
- Work in conjunction with site directors to ensure departmental grant compliance
- Directly supervise Summit County EAS/Hot Meal staff, programming and budget
- Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives.
Requirements
- Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Urban Studies, or Public Administration or closely related field; with 2-3 years of experience working in basic social
- Must have the ability to relate to wide variety of people, including professional, volunteers and consumers; as well as represent the organization to outside organizations and
- Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including conflict management.
- Must have a proficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office
- Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks, strong detail orientation and the ability to maintain
- Must be able to work independently from general
- Must have 1-2 years general fiscal and administrative
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation for local
- Due to the nature of the work, fingerprinting is required to complete background check.
