Home Visiting Supervisor, Early Childhood:

The Home Visiting Supervisor, Early Childhood will Perform a wide range of planning, implementation, management and evaluation functions in collaboration with Director, Senior Regional Director and other program supervisors. Provide (administrative, clinical, reflective) supervision and monitor the performance of direct service staff. Ensure that Early Childhood home visiting programs are meeting contractual deliverables in an efficient and fiscally sound manner. Make recommendations and oversee the implementation of evidence-based home visiting national models to meet accreditation and affiliation requirements as well as other contractual obligations. Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners and funders in collaboration with the Director. Assist with providing direct services to clients when needed.

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.   
  • Plan, develop, analyze and evaluate the delivery of home visiting services and activities to best meet the needs of the clients/participants. 
  • Provide (administrative, clinical, reflective) supervision and monitor the performance of staff as needed.   
  • May recruit, schedule and monitor volunteers and/or selection of staff 
  • Monitor caseloads and staff productivity expectations, per guidelines.   
  • Participate in marketing and outreach functions such as speaking engagements and community events.
  • Participate in budget preparation, monitor budget reports and operate within approved budgets.  
  • Assist in the development of annual goals and targets for home visiting programs and initiatives, monitor progress and outcomes utilizing various reports and other mechanisms. 
  • Compile and maintain statistics and data on program reports and clients/participants; record keeping of individual files. 
  • Confer with client/participant and their families regarding programs activities, policies, and enrollment procedures; conduct individual and group orientation to program expectations.    
  • Develop and maintain frequent contacts with peers and/or personnel in other agencies for client and site related information for joint planning and action. 
  • Refer clients/participants to internal and external sources and/or community resources to supplement services needed.     
  • Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish objectives.  

Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree in human services or fields related to working with children and families, or bachelor’s degree in these fields with 3 years of relevant experience, or less than a bachelor’s degree but with commensurate experience in Healthy Families America and/or Parents as Teachers Home Visiting models.
  • Administrative experience in human service or related field including experience in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement  
  • Solid understanding of or experience in supervising diverse staff with humility, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments
  • Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment 
  • Experience with family services that embraces the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision 
  • Knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect 
  • Experience supporting culturally diverse communities/families 
  • Experience in home visiting with a strong background in early childhood prevention services. 
  • Willingness to engage in building reflective practice (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.) 
  • Must be able to relate to a wide variety of people, both professional and volunteers; represent the Site/Corporation to outside organizations and systems. 
  • Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Good working knowledge of computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office software. 
  • Willingness to work a diverse schedule that may include some evenings and weekends.   
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation for local travel.    
  • LSW, PC, LISW, LPCC or licensure eligible preferred.  Infant mental health endorsement preferred.
  • Experience with reflective practice preferred.
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Travel throughout the service area required to supervise staff, monitor service delivery and participate in community activities.
  • Constant reading, writing, eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity to manage correspondence, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, computer keyboard, and contracts.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking for desk work, traveling and general office activities.
  • Constant use of computer, telephone/cell phone and virtual connections.
