We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs.

Sunday and Wednesdays OFF
Monday 8:00 am to 4:00pm
Tuesday 12:00pm to 8:00pm
Thursday 12:00pm to 8:00pm
Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm
Saturday 8:00am to 4:00pm

General Summary:
Recreation Coordinator’s responsibilities include planning, creating and implement a recreational program to meet the physical, social, emotional, spiritual and cognitive needs of the male and female clients in residential treatment for substance use disorders. Creative, enthusiastic, energetic and caring individual with activity experience, time management and organizational skills.
Position Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The Recreation Coordinator develops and promotes recreational programs including, but not limited to, music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural presentations, nature study, social recreation, games and trips.
The Recreation Coordinator will be responsible to:
- Facilitate, small group and large group activities
- Facility-based and community activities
- Physical exercise or other physical activities
- Intellectual activities
- Social interaction
- Adapts recreation programs, which takes into consideration the age, sex, physical and mental capabilities, interests and the cultural and social background of the clients.
- Develops and implements procedures, so that clients can sign up for desired recreation programs in the community.
- Schedules recreational activities in the community and coordinates transportation
- Coordinates the recreational activities around scheduled clinical services.
- Develops and nurtures relationships in the community, that will encourage the integration of the clients and the community
- Handles documentation as required and maintains records of activity scheduled
- Develops goals and objectives for each recreational activity
- Develops, organizes and implements the activity calendar one month in advance. Posts calendar in place known by all clients by the 1st of each month. The posted activities shall include description, date and time.
- Always maintains an outgoing and positive attitude.
- Maintains and protects the confidentiality of client’s information at all times.
- Meet the recreational requirements based on Licensing requirements
- Keep records of all the scheduled activities and include in the Electronic Health Records System (EHR)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in recreation administration, physical education, social work, psychology or closely related field, and six (6) months experience in recreation, or actively pursuing CADC certification or any equivalent combination of education or experience. Must have car and a NJ driver's license with good driving history. Innovative, detail-oriented and flexible with ability to work independently. Must be computer literate and possess ability to type.
