POSITION TITLE:        Senior Nutrition Site Coordinator- Calexico, CA

DEPARTMENT:            Community Services / Senior Nutrition Program

FLSA STATUS:            Non-Exempt

TIME COMMITMENT:  Part-time (20 hours per week)

                                     Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m./9:30 a.m. through 1:00 p.m./1:30 p.m.; work schedule to be set by Program Manager

                                     based on the program needs.

SALARY:                      $ 16.50 - $17.50 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Site Coordinator oversees the operations of a congregate meal site for the Senior Nutrition Program. Oversight includes site setup, meal service, planning and executing event activities for seniors attending the site, intake of program participants,  supervision and activity assignment of onsite volunteers, provide excellent client services, creating a positive and safe environment for seniors and cleanup of the site before and after the meals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

·      Ensure proper setup and cleanup of the congregate site.

·      Assigns trains and supervises any kitchen aides, senior aides, and/or volunteers providing services at the congregate site.

·      Oversee meal service, including receipt of food from the kitchen, checking food temperatures, presentation of meal, distribution, etc.

·      Serve food, if and when other staff or volunteers are not available.

·      Complete intake information on participants.

·      Report any observed changes in or concerns about the health or well-being of seniors being served to the Program Manager for follow-up.

·      Assist in the supervision of volunteers assigned to the program in accordance with the agency’s policies and applicable laws

·      Complete all required reports in a timely manner.

·      Participate in all programs, department and agency meetings, and trainings.

·      Collects, receipts, records and transmits donations according to agency procedures.

·      Adheres to Mission, Principles and Policies of Catholic Charities Senior Nutrition Program.

·      Completes and submits all required and assigned paperwork in a timely and accurate manner

·      Supports participants’ by Providing Nutritional Needs in Congregate setting.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·      High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·      Bilingual – Spanish and English required.

·      Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Computer experience in Microsoft Office Software prefer.

·      Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

·      Ability to effectively present information to clients, and other employees of the agency.

·      Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 

·      Ability to interact well and communicate with seniors, staff, and volunteers.

·      Ability to work in a team environment.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

 

·      Must Obtain/Maintain ServSafe Certification and current CPR Certification.

·      Must possess valid California Driver’s License and have an excellent driving record. The position requires the use of an automobile, and insurance as required by the agency requirements.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment with a busy flow of clients where the noise level is usually moderate.  Ability to travel to various locations may be required.
