Catholic Charities Family and Community Services is currently recruiting for Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions! This position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work with people individually and in a group setting with individuals with Developmental Disabilities.
$17.25/ hour starting. Automatic increase to $18/hr once AMAP certified. Additional pay with DSP experience!
We are hiring for positions in Lyons, NY. We have full-time and relief positions open.
We do NOT have DAY-ONLY shifts available at this time.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Provide person-centered support to all individuals served, recognizing the individual’s need for teaching and preferred style for learning and at a level at which he or she can perform.
2. Provide direct personal assistance in instances when an individual requires “hands-on” supports.
3. Assist individuals in supporting his/her own health and wellness needs.
4. Assist individuals in meal preparation, menu planning, and food shopping.
5. Engage in effective communication with individuals.
6. Provide immediate response to and report all incidents, first aid treatments, medical emergencies, or other crises according to policy and procedures.
7. Assist individuals with fiscal management while safeguarding their funds. This may include completing ledgers, reconciling accounts, and supporting individuals with spending choices.
8. Appropriately communicate all pertinent information during the work shift and from shift to shift to other team members and/or assigned supervisor.
9. Promote the emotional, physical, and personal well-being of individuals served.
10. Ensure proper safekeeping of individual’s valuables.
11. Correctly follow procedures for mandated reporting and responding.
12. Obtain and maintain all required training, staff meetings, and apply the information to support people served.
13. Ensure that people exercise their rights and that rights are not restricted without due process.
14. Maintain flexibility in work schedule based on needs of individuals assigned including working overtime and/or covering additional shifts on an emergency basis.
