Administrative Support – Level 2 – 24 hours per week
GRADE 7 Salary range - $17.00-$19.13 per hour FLSA (Non-Exempt)
I. QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
1. High School diploma/GED
- One year office experience preferred
- Experience with health insurance billing/coding preferred (ICD-10 & CPT codes)
Skills
- Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to operate multi-line telephone system and general office equipment
- Good organizational skills
- The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs.
II. RESPONSIBLE TO: Program Manager
III. Major Functions
1. Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone
2. Keep patient appointments on schedule by verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to the appointment and assist with scheduling as needed.
3. Able to navigate and stay up to date with health insurance regulations and systems
4. Collecting patient charges
5. Handling patient inquiries about bills, offering explanations and setting/following up payment plans for those unable to pay in full
6. Completing monthly billing for accounting
7. Liaise between program and accounting
8. Complete correspondence, reports, forms, and other program related documents
9. Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating patient demographics and insurance
10. Set up new client case files, audit closed cases and complete case file destruction per schedule
11. Maintain program and client confidentiality
12. Participate in staff meetings and take meeting minutes
13. Participating in training activities
14. Perform other job-related tasks requested by supervisor
