We are currently seeking a Program Coordinator for our Fort Walton Beach Food Pantry.
Volunteer and Program Coordinator (Food Pantry)
This position manages the volunteers, budget, and food ordering/collecting for our food pantry and mobile food pantry, "The Caring Coach.”
This coordinator will lead, train, and recruit volunteers for the food assistance programs. A team approach is used to inventory food, stock shelves, prepare food bags, and give out food to the community. Communication, computer, and organization skills are necessary to effectively promote the programs within the community, report data, and keep the food organized and the programs running smoothly.
Duties:
- Assist in the unloading and proper storage of incoming food.
- Budget management.
- Recruit and train volunteers.
- Coordinates food drives and fundraising activities.
- Ordering food for all distribution sites.
- Organize and load food for distribution.
- Collecting client information, entering data, and filing.
- Ensure volunteer coverage at all distribution sites and collect volunteer hours.
- Collect surveys as required by grant programs.
- Complete Reports as necessary to ensure grant compliance.
- Receiving and tracking donations.
- Assisting with the annual Christmas Connection program.
- Complete data entry accurately and timely.
- Inventory food commodities as directed.
- Supervise the maintenance of the food pantry to ensure good working order as described by USDA, with no past-dated food items and proper cleanliness of the pantry(s).
- Assist in the unloading and proper storage of incoming food.
- Stock and organize shelves.
- Answers phones, assesses the caller’s needs and directs the caller appropriately.
- Greets clients and directs them appropriately to complete paperwork and to receive services.
- Maintain order in reception areas.
- Copying and filing as required.
- Performs related assignments such as (but not limited to): assisting in particular studies, interpreting/outreaching the agency program to the community, and representing the agency on designated committees.
