What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multi-Build Maintenance Technician position at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago?
Essential Functions* of the position are detailed below and include any physical requirements checked below:
1. Primarily responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance and repairing of assigned property(ies) in order to provide a clean, safe, efficient and conducive work environment for staff, clients, residents and/or visitors;
2. Ensures compliance with all Agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job expectations;
3. Manages and monitors the different mechanical systems and related equipment that control water, heating/cooling, and air quality and discusses any issues with supervisory chain;
4. Coordinates with outside consultants, contractors, and vendors, as needed;
5. Responsible for coaching, supervising, training, and professional development of staff;
6. Responsible for assigning work to staff and ensuring the work is performed in an efficient, prompt, professional and accurate manner and provides guidance, when necessary;
7. Handles employee complaints as well as crisis situations in consultation with his/her supervisory chain and in compliance with Agency/ Programmatic policies and procedures and treats each case with sensitivity and expedience;
8. Handles a wide array of technical tasks to ensure compliance with agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job expectations;
9. Monitors and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies;
10. Responsible for handling and/or coordinating services to resolve any maintenance-related emergencies, as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Relevant Education:
Preferred: High School
Minimum: GED
Relevant Experience:
Preferred: 5 years of maintenance or related experience and 5 years of supervisory experience
Minimum: 3-5 years of maintenance or related experience
Certification/Licensure:
Preferred: Related Technical Certificate
Minimum: N/A
Compensation: $22.75-$24.75 / hour
Salary : $23 - $25
