As a Volunteer, You Will:
- Collaborate with Staff: Work alongside experienced professionals to brainstorm and design engaging exercise sessions that promote physical wellness, enhancing your teamwork and communication skills.
- Lead Tailored Exercise Sessions: Facilitate gentle stretching, chair exercises, and balance activities, allowing you to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting.
- Safety Monitoring: Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and monitor participants, honing your ability to ensure safety and provide personalized support.
- Personalize Activities: Adapt exercises for individual health needs, gaining experience in customized care approaches and improving your adaptability.
- Foster a Positive Environment: Encourage and support participants, developing your interpersonal skills and ability to create an inclusive atmosphere.
- Location: Catholic Charities’ Adult Day Center (1919 N 60th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53208).
- Availability: Flexible 2-hour shifts on Thursday or Friday afternoons (1:00 PM- 3:00 PM), either weekly or monthly.
- Training: Participate in an information session and tour the facility; complete any necessary online learning modules.
- A genuine passion for physical activity and wellness, with a desire to share this enthusiasm with others.
- Ability to work with adults of varying physical abilities and provide encouragement and support in a compassionate manner.
- *Note: Catholic Charities asks for a 6-month minimum commitment
