UNIT TURN TECHNICIAN
Multi – Location, Minneapolis / St Paul

WAGE RANGE: $19.60 - $22.80/hourly
JOB SUMMARY: Ensure timely and quality room turnovers to provide functioning and safe apartments for Catholic Charities clients. This position is essential in making housing ready as soon as possible for unhoused clients. Assists supervisor and facilities staff with additional facility operations of Catholic Charities properties to ensure resident and staff safety. Performs a variety of tasks of multiple building trades, including some custodial duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Turn over recently vacated apartments and make them ready to rent to new residents.
- Make light repairs to the unit, ensure doors and windows are in working order; replace or repair all fixtures, shelving, and lighting; clean or replace damaged carpeting and flooring; paint units, confirm appliances function as expected.
- Some light cleaning may be needed during unit turns. Larger cleaning projects will need to be relayed to contracted cleaners.
- Assess if tasks need to be completed by contracted maintenance or cleaners and help assign them.
- Be committed to creating a safe working environment for the team and a safe living environment for our residents with a safety-first approach.
- Performs maintenance requests to keep up with ongoing facility maintenance and repairs.

Will use either a company-owned or personal vehicle to move between properties or to pick up supplies off-site.
- Mileage reimbursement available for personal vehicle use.
- Monitor properties for any repairs or replacements that may arise.

Be environmentally conscientious, i.e.:
- Ensure items disposed are disposable and not recyclable.
- Be cognizant of hazardous waste, metals, paper, corrugated, and certain glass.
- Report hazardous conditions encountered to your supervisor immediately.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- High school diploma or equivalency
- One (1) years’ experience in building maintenance or room turns.
- Graduate of building maintenance/trade program preferred.
- Has basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and building safety.
- HVAC experience preferred.
- Skills in prioritizing and organizing work requests.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional to frequent basis.
- Has basic computer skills.
- Has the ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness.
