As the Behavior Intervention Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:
- Providing behavioral services which include assessment, evaluation, consultation, intervention, development of behavioral management plans, service plans and goals and treatment services, as required by regulation and/or the needs of the individual being served.
- Providing education and training in areas pertinent to behavioral, psychological and associated services.
- Developing and implementing a treatment plan based on the findings of the evaluations and recommendations of the care manager, advocate and the individual served. (i.e. design of an appropriate behavioral plan).
Behavior Intervention Specialist Minimum Salary: $25.00/hour
Behavior Intervention Specialist Maximum Salary: $25.00/hour
Behavior Intervention Specialist Schedule: Full-time *flexibility with hours required*
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in behavior analysis or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology that is approved by OPWDD or Clinical or treatment field of Psychology, Social Work, School Psychology, Applied Psychology as it relates to human development and clinical intervention, or a related Human services field
- National board certification in behavioral analysis (BCBA) or NYS License in Mental Health Counseling and have or will obtain OPWDD-approved specialized training or experience in functional assessment techniques and behavior support plan development.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior support plans; and/or providing supervision and training to others in the implementation of behavior support plans.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
