Job Summary:
We are currently looking to add a full time Float Cook to Catholic Charities Senior Dining program. As a float cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals for Senior Dining/Meals on Wheels, ensuring that our seniors have access to a healthy, home prepared meal. This position fills in for other cooks at sites across the program who may be on vacation or a leave of absence. You will prepare food for the site in which you are cooking as well as potential satellite site(s) and/or other contracted programs. The float cook will assigned to the primary cooking location (likely to be either Albany or St. Cloud - other locations may be considered), however, the float cook will be required to travel to the different Senior Dining kitchens across the program to fill in where needed. This position is Monday - Friday with no weekends.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct preparation and service of meals.
- Follow MN Department of Health requirements for Certified Food Managers and OSHA requirements for workplace safety.
- Prepare wholesome food for meals according to program guidelines.
- Order, store, and record food purchases; maintain equipment and inventories.
- Maintain regular contact with Program Manager and Senior Dining office.
- Implement agency policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Education/Training: High school diploma. Current State of Minnesota Certified Food Manager.
Job Related Experience: Two (2) years of quantity cooking. Knowledge of food service equipment operation is helpful.
Additional Requirement: A current driver’s license is required.
