Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud is a leading non-profit organization that advances the charitable and social mission of the Diocese of St. Cloud.  We build communities, promote family life, and enhance human dignity by providing quality services to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals and families of all faiths and beliefs. 

Catholic Charities advances our mission by responding to a wide spectrum of clients and social service needs through the work of our 30 programs.  We partner with a range of nonprofit organizations, government officials, and community stakeholders to advocate and provide support to the most vulnerable in our community.  With the dedication of nearly 300 employees and the support of over 2,800 volunteers, nearly 45,000 individuals were served in 2022.  

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud is located in St. Cloud, MN approximately 90 minutes outside of Minneapolis/St. Paul with programs serving the 16 county area of the Diocese of St. Cloud.  The St. Cloud area is a vibrant community, the 8th largest city in the state while providing a small-town community feel.   The area offers outstanding recreational opportunities, exceptional health care services, beautiful gardens, vibrant arts, five colleges and a historic downtown community. 

Position Summary:  The President & CEO provides inspired leadership to serve the community and to achieve the mission of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud.  The President & CEO oversees the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization.  Other key responsibilities include legislative advocacy, organizational advancement, fundraising, and community outreach.  The President & CEO is the primary spokesperson for Catholic Charities and reports to the Board of Directors and the Bishop of the Diocese of St. Cloud.   

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides vision strategy consistent with the agency’s mission, values, and resources in collaboration with agency leadership and Board of Directors.
• Upholds the organization’s public reputation and outreach, representing Catholic Charities to a variety of stakeholders including donors, church representatives, community, legislative leaders and civic organizations.
• Builds a culture of philanthropy and develops, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive funding plan to support agency programs.
• Ensures consistency of Catholic identity and congruence with Catholic teachings and works collaboratively within a Diocesan structure.
• Develops and maintains a positive relationship with funders, legislators, donors, policy makers, colleagues, diocesan representatives, priests, parish personnel, and anyone else who would have an impact on operations the organization.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree with a Master’s degree being preferred.  A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible organizational leadership experience is required.  Must have working knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church with demonstrated faith and commitment to Catholic Social Teaching and a desire to welcome and serve the poor and vulnerable in our community. 

Competencies:

• Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in organizational leadership at the Executive level
• Ability to convey a vision of Catholic Charities strategic future plan and operations
• Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
• Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations
• Strong public speaking skills
