What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director, Family Services position at Catholic Charities Washtenaw County?
There is a full-time Associate Director opportunity available with the Catholic Charities Family Services programs. The Associate Director is responsible for the general management and oversight of the Washtenaw Child Advocacy Center, Child Welfare Program (Foster Care and Waiting Child Adoption) and Pregnancy Counseling/Newborn Adoption Program. In collaboration with organizational leadership, the position is responsible for implementing policies, procedures, and practices that align with the National Children’s Alliance and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to serve the long-term sustainability of program services. The Associate Director participates in community and Organization collaboratives and demonstrates leadership in communication, team building, and problem solving. In collaboration with CCWC administration and provides quality data and statistics and funding content for grants and funding. While most situations are managed during the normal business hours, some evening and weekend work may be required.
Experience includes but is not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or other relevant human services program area, with proven experience in child abuse, victim services and outreach, crisis intervention, and/or the criminal justice system.
- Professional or advanced degree relevant to supervision of a workforce of licensed professionals highly preferred
Proven success leading and building the capacity of a diverse team administering multiple functions required. Must have experience in child welfare related field including working knowledge of foster care, licensing, and adoption. Foster Care and Adoption Supervisory CWTI training required. Experience working with DHHS, DCWL, juvenile courts, and other partner agencies. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience including proven management and administrative skills.
- Requires certification by the State of Michigan, professional organizations, and accrediting bodies.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Michigan as related to the specific degree is required.
- Automobile insurance coverage with $500,000 single occurrence liability for business-related local travel and transporting clients in personal vehicle.
Competitive pay dependent upon qualifications and experience. Total compensation includes a comprehensive benefit plan with employer contribution, 401k retirement option, plus paid time off with paid holiday schedule that includes the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
