What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foster Care Supervisor position at Catholic Charities Washtenaw County?
Full-time Foster Care Supervisor position providing high-quality and compassionate service to clients in Washtenaw, Jackson, Hillsdale, and surrounding counties. This position is responsible for supervising the Foster Care Case Managers who provide services to neglected/abused children currently in foster care, birth parents, and foster parents.
In addition to CWTI training, the ideal candidate will have solid experience within the child welfare field, and thorough working knowledge of licensing/foster care laws and policies as prescribed by the State of Michigan. Candidate must possess a minimum of 2 years of foster care and adoption experience as well as prior supervisory experience. A Master’s degree is highly preferred, BSW with required CWTI training and significant experience considered. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license due to frequent travel to Washtenaw, Jackson, Hillsdale, Branch and other Counties.
Some evening work may be required. Shared rotating on-call availability among Child Welfare staff to manage 24/7 crisis. Rotation is monthly. All Child Welfare staff are required to participate in a designated on-call week. A $50.00 compensation fee is provided for this week. Flexibility in your weekly schedule is required to ensure proper coverage Monday-Friday at the Packard office.
This position is eligible for a $1,250.00 welcome bonus (some restrictions apply).
Total compensation includes mileage reimbursement, comprehensive benefit plan with employer contribution, 401k retirement option, plus paid time off with paid holiday schedule that includes the week between Christmas and New Year’s. The Foster Care Supervisor is provided with a work cell phone for business-related tasks.
