Position Summary

The Enhanced Foster Care Specialist position is responsible for the day to day functioning of the Enhanced Foster Care program.

 

Annual Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $53,800.00

 

$3,750.00 signing bonus- paid out in three increments over an 18-month period with the first increment paid on the first full paycheck following employment start date.

$5,000.00 signing bonus- paid out in three increments over an 18-month period given you have previous experience in Foster Care and are CWTI trained and certified.   First increment paid on the first full paycheck following employment start date.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves a maximum caseload of eight (8) EFC children
  • Provides treatment planning and leadership of the treatment team
  • Participates in the recruitment, orientation and training of foster parents
  • Works in-conjunction with the Foster Care Worker on intake of youth, placement and program evaluation
  • Assists in driving and transporting clients when needed
  • Completes and submits required CCWM, and WMPC documents, specific to EFC, within the required time frames
  • Collaborates with Behavioral Aides to assist with appropriate behavioral health and mental health services to child and family to ensure appropriate services are being implemented and appropriately utilized
  • Shows compliance with policies and procedures of DCWL, DHHS, contracts, standards, agency and program expectations
  • Maintains contact with the child, biological family, caregiver, attorneys, therapists, school personnel and/or other service providers related to the implementation of the service plan
  • Attends supervision, staff program trainings, and agency meetings

  • Ability to prepare reports, maintain records, and collect and evaluate client data
  • Ability to read and interpret data
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures while communicating with clients and the public in a courteous and effective manner
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Ability to meet requirements of all contracts, licensing regulations and State/Federal oversight

Recommended Employment Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in social Work, sociology, psychology or a human service related area as specified by MSA and BCAL rules is required.
  • A Master's Degree in a human services field is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least two (2) years experience working in Child Welfare or Family systems along with experience in assessment and treatment planning is required.
  • Completion of Child Welfare Training Institute (CWTI) is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CWTI Certification
  • State of Michigan Social Work licensure is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
