What are the responsibilities and job description for the DV/SA Case Manager - SAFE Project position at Catholic Charities Wichita?
Under general supervision from the SAFE (Safety, Advocacy, Finances, and Employment) project director, the SAFE project case manager is responsible for day-to-day operations associated with the domestic violence welfare advocacy and social services project.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
Accountabilities
- Provides direct advocacy services to recipients of TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) at Harbor House, including screening, planning, intake counseling, referrals and economic advocacy.
- Provides direct advocacy services to the targeted Non-TANF domestic violence victims as enumerated in the grant application.
- Coordinates a spectrum of community resources and refers clients to subsequent services. Maintains professional contact with community resources and advocates client needs.
- Enters program demographic and service data. Completes monthly report(s) required by DCF (Department for Children and Families).
- Travels to assigned DCF offices as needed.
- Performs other related assigned duties.
Requirements
- Education
- Undergraduate degree in social work or social sciences related field.
- Certification, Recertification, Registration, or License
- Class C driver’s license, motor vehicle, and insurance required.
- Experience
- Two years of previous experience working with low-income individuals and families as case manager.
- Professional experience or training in counseling, domestic violence, sexual assault, economically disadvantaged, or other social issues.
- Preference to those who have experience and knowledge in domestic violence and sexual assault services.
