What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Director - Foster Grandparent Program position at Catholic Charities Wichita?
Under general direction from the Senior Director of Operations, the Program Director provides training and supervision for program staff while also supporting the planning, development, execution, and evaluation of AmeriCorps Seniors grant program.
Accountabilities:- Remain up to date and current with developments and regulations in the areas of Aging
- and Mentoring programs, including the AmeriCorps Seniors grant program. Communicate
those developments to staff and management as needed. - Provide consultation and guidance to staff and volunteers in addressing client service
needs, crisis intervention, and emergencies to ensure adherence to agency standards and
policies. - Determine staffing requirements and participate in hiring process.
- Ensure accurate and effective training on company and department policies and
procedures is being completed for new and existing staff and volunteers. - Evaluate staff on a regular basis. Assure that performance reviews are completed annually
for staff under direct supervision, including establishing specific individual development
goals. - Align all actions with agency's CARE values: Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, and
Excellence. - Monitor and review staff documentation for accuracy or reporting errors. Record program
demographics and service data into Catholic Charities data base. - Coordinate with the senior director of operations to ensure quality provision of services
and adherence to policies and procedures for the program. - Inform supervisor in a timely manner of all potential or actual risks that may compromise
the overall functioning of the program and make recommendations to avert the risk. - Support the delivery of excellent customer services and client satisfaction.
- Responsible for program development that is consistent with client choice, regulatory
standards and best practice standards. - Develop annual program budget in conjunction with finance department.
- Work with director of grant funding to research grants. Oversee and monitor compliance
with grants. - Prepare and submit required reports on time.
- Maintain accurate and complete client files. Compile and submit statistical data.
- Prefer evening/weekend availability for recruitment; however, not required.
- Promote program services and maintain professional contact with community partners.
- Professionally represent program to interested groups through discussions or seminars.
- Demonstrate an understanding of, and support for, the mission of Catholic Charities and
act as a representative of Catholic Charities in this role. - Perform other related assigned duties.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Gerontology or other related field preferred.
- Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years experience working with aging population or mentoring programs.
- At least two (2) years experience in supervisory or administrative role with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain goals and priorities preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Good oral and written communication.
- Able to use a personal computer via mouse and keyboard, familiarity with Windows and Microsoft products.
Exposures:
- Controlled inside work environment with noise/vibrations from general office equipment. Minimal exposure to fumes/dust/odors.
Physical Demands:
- Work Type: Medium, exerting up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
