Middle School Physical Education Teacher
Cathedral is seeking an enthusiastic Middle School Physical Education Teacher dedicated to promoting fitness, teamwork, and healthy habits. The ideal candidate will be skilled in designing engaging lessons that develop motor skills, build confidence, and inspire active participation. Key Responsibilities:
- Standards-Based Instruction: Create dynamic, standards-based unit lessons focused on student engagement, incorporating both formative and summative assessments to evaluate learning outcomes.
- Individualized Learning Goals: Establish meaningful learner goals that reflect the school’s mission and values.
- Collaborative Work: Partner with department colleagues and the principal to support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Data-Informed Teaching: Collaborate with other teachers to design and coordinate assessments, using data to address student needs effectively.
- Professional Development: Actively participate in regular Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings professional development days.
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents, students, colleagues, and administrators using available technology tools.
Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Teaching License in the relevant content area (preferred).
- Proven ability to encourage critical thinking through meaningful classroom discussions.
- Previous teaching experience (preferred).
- Strong classroom management skills that foster student learning and leadership.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with collaboration and problem-solving.
- Experience in curriculum and assessment design preferred.
- Understanding of the importance of parent involvement and the ability to build effective partnerships.
