For more information visit our website at : OVERVIEWResponsible for providing case management and referrals to newly arrived refugees in their initial resettlement adjustment period, including generating referrals to external services and other agencies, documenting services, filing documents, and providing ongoing training. Position may from time-to-time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvides pre-arrival core services and welcomes refugees at the airportWorks with apartment complexes to secure housing for newly arrived refugeesCoordinates external and internal resources for newly arrived clientsConducts client intakes, assesses refugee needs, and provides core services, all in timely mannersRefers refugees to mainstream services provided and monitors the follow-upDevelops plans and strategies with clients to attain self-sufficiencyMonitors and update financial recordsDocuments services, contacts, and follow-upMaintains physical and web-based files in logical, timely, and efficient mannersProvides weekly update reports during department meetingsProvides immediate case management services to clients to ensure development of short-term and long-term plans for housing and employmentCollaborates with staff and volunteers to provide referrals and services to refugeesMay drive agency or personal vehicle on company businessMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSSuitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.High School Diploma or GEDOne year of experience working in migration or refugee services, and / or social workAbility to relate to clients in culturally and linguistically appropriate mannersFamiliar with needs of refugees and community services availableExcellent data entry skills (speed and accuracy)Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite Excellent organizational skillsProven strong communication skills - oral and written are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar, and toneAbility to lift 40 poundsBilingual, or multilingualREGULATORYMust be at least 18 years of ageValid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle reportAbility to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSAssociate Degree in human services or related fieldAdditional years of directly-related experienceThe above statement reflects the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.We are an Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity Employer for all individuals.
