OVERVIEW
Responsible for providing case management and referrals to newly arrived refugees in their initial resettlement adjustment period, including generating referrals to external services and other agencies, documenting services, filing documents, and providing ongoing training. Position may from time-to-time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides pre-arrival core services and welcomes refugees at the airport
- Works with apartment complexes to secure housing for newly arrived refugees
- Coordinates external and internal resources for newly arrived clients
- Conducts client intakes, assesses refugee needs, and provides core services, all in timely manners
- Refers refugees to mainstream services provided and monitors the follow-up
- Develops plans and strategies with clients to attain self-sufficiency
- Monitors and update financial records
- Documents services, contacts, and follow-up
- Maintains physical and web-based files in logical, timely, and efficient manners
- Provides weekly update reports during department meetings
- Provides immediate case management services to clients to ensure development of short-term and long-term plans for housing and employment
- Collaborates with staff and volunteers to provide referrals and services to refugees
- May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.
