OVERVIEW
Supports teaching staff in a licensed childcare and preschool and / or afterschool age facility with implementing classroom and recreational activities for children 3 through 12 years of age. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance . M ay perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists with setting up classroom activities and prepares needed supplies and materials. Provides support for children in their classroom activities ensuring they have attention and resources
- Assists with mealtime, nap time and play time (indoor and outdoor)
- Follows the state licensing, Quality First and childcare food program standards
- Maintains a clean and safe environment and monitors children's behavior
- May assist with the after school and summer program activities
- Assists in keeping accurate records for programs
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Duties
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.
A student-aide provides the licensee with documentation of participation in :
An educational, curriculum-based course in child development, parenting, or guidance counseling; or
