Primary location is in Everett, WA, but must be willing to commute/work at our Bellingham, WA office at least 2 times per month. Hybrid of in-office and remote schedule available after completion of initial training period.
Full-time (40 hr. per week) position starting at $90,794.48 – $93,064.35/Annually (D.O.E).

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Finance Director (FD), the incoming Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions for the NW finance department locations in both Everett and Bellingham, WA, which consists of $24M in revenue and expenses. Leading with integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of CCSWW, the incoming Accounting Manager must have experience with full cycle accounting, team leadership and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. In addition to performing accounting duties, incumbent will assist in projects to upgrade internal accounting and banking systems.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Upholds and models the Mission, Insights, Key Action Steps and Principles of Leadership for CCSWW.
SUPERVISION:
- Supervise, train and assess the performance of some Accounting staff, including but not limited to Accounting Specialists.
FINANCE / ACCOUNTING OVERSIGHT:
- Directly supervise Accounting Specialists, Payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, contract billings, and preparation of schedules for the annual regional agency audit.
- Develop and implement sound operational processing procedures and internal controls for all transaction cycles (cash receipts, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, account payable, payroll, and fixed assets). Develop and implement procedures related to accounting requirements in government-funded contracts.
- Evaluate current accounting processes for efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring appropriate training for all staff.
- Serve as a key member of the ERP implementation team and assist with the process to convert to the new accounting system developed for CCSWW by Infor.
- Establish and monitor monthly closing processes and deadlines. Ensure financial statements are adjusted to properly reflect actual profit/loss monthly within the established deadlines.
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of contract terms to facilitate/ monitor revenue collection and recording.
- Ensure accuracy, review, and approve reconciliations and journal entries prepared by the Senior Accounting staff, and Accounting Specialists.
- Proactively and professionally communicate and present urgent financial matters to the Finance Director.
- Act as lead, providing support to and mentoring program managers and staff on contract monitoring, reporting, and financial and accounting processes.
- Be one of the accounting department leads in audit preparation of schedules and reconciliations of general ledger accounts requiring an understanding of complex accounting processes and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to effectively translate and collaborate with programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from accredited business school.
- 7-10 years of experience in accounting.
- 5 Years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and ability to prioritize multiple demands and deadlines.
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing external and internal priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communications and persuasive skills, including the ability to communicate concisely, to integrate legal and business knowledge and to provide balanced and sound legal advice regarding risks.
- Must possess highest degree of integrity, honesty and credibility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Similar experience in working for a non-profit social service organization.
- CPA.
- Master’s Degree in related field.
