The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and Holy Name High School are pleased to accept applications for the position of Attendance Secretary. Founded in 1914, Holy Name High School is a diocesan-sponsored, co-educational, comprehensive high school with a college preparatory emphasis and is committed to leading young adults to Christ by educating them in mind, body, and spirit. With a population of more than 636 students in grades nine through twelve, Holy Name High School provides young men and women with a nurturing and supportive educational environment in which to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and morally.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences, using a variety of learning materials and resources.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Provide appropriate feedback on students' submitted assignments.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student’s progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities and communicate necessary information regularly to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
- Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
- Participate in level, school, and parent meetings.
- Attend professional development meetings as required by the principal.
- Write professional development goals as required by the LPDC.
- Keep up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
- Other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and to best practices in Catholic education. Familiarity with the teachings, traditions, and policies, which apply to formation and development of high school-aged youth.
- The position requires VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check.
- Ability to teach a variety of art courses, including painting, drawing, ceramics, digital photography and knowledge of Adobe photoshop, etc.
- Must have obtained a valid Ohio Teaching License
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in education, art, or another related field
- 2 years working with high school students.
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-starter; able to work independently.
