Reports to Executive Director: Michael J. Bulko, LCSW
Summary of Duties:
To provide individual, family, and marital psychotherapy. To include the initial psychosocial evaluation, appropriate individual and/ group interventions, and necessary referrals.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate school of social work.
Licensure by the state of Texas at the LCSW level.
Personal: Must be a practicing Catholic. Ability and skill to counsel in one-to-one, joint, and family situations. Demonstrate the ability to work with other professional staff as part of a team. Sensitivity and ability to work with cultural differences. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience working directly in a therapeutic position.
Preferably have experience in working with Mexican/American or Hispanic immigrant populations. Knowledge of Catholic values and morals, and the ability to integrate this with psychotherapy. Must be computer literate and able to type at least 35 wpm. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Specific Duties:
- Carries a caseload which is representative of the cases within the agency program.
- Performs a variety of casework duties, including an initial evaluation, psychosocial history, formulation of treatment plan, and implementation of psychotherapeutic treatment.
- Maintains proper clinical records of interventions with clients as required by law, ethical standards and agency policies.
- Increase analytical and psychosocial diagnostic skills and resourcefulness in developing treatment processes.
- Accepts responsibility for appraisal of own work and for own professional development.
- Contacts other social service agencies or institutions to secure information regarding client situations, or to make appropriate referrals.
- Participates in on-going professional development through agency case staffing, attendance at professional seminars and reading current literature.
- Collaborates with director, agency staff, and appropriate consultants on specific case-related problems.
- Participates in staff meetings for discussion of administrative procedures, cases, and other related information.
- May fulfill contracts between the agency and other entities, and provide other services to the diocese.
- Prepares monthly statistical reports on all work done.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
- Employee understands that he/she will be an example to the community by maintaining good standing in the Catholic Church through adherence to the laws of the Church and through practice of the Faith by living a sacramental, moral Catholic life including regular Mass attendance.
