Summary:
Annunciation Catholic School at Christ the King seeks a Christ-centered and loving professional educator to fill a Preschool / PreK teaching position for the 2025-26 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about his or her Faith, knowledgeable about the Indiana Early Learning curriculum and standards, and capable of maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment. We are also looking for someone who can build strong relationships with students and parents, and positively collaborate with the entire school community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaches Diocesan-approved curriculum while creating a classroom and the total school
environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and
interests of the students.
- Models and teaches Catholic doctrine, values, and morals.
- Works cooperatively with administrators, faculty, students, and parents to form a faith community in the school and parish.
- Prepares lesson plans and teaches in assigned subject area and grade level in accordance with state and diocesan guidelines
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life
and conduct and develops and informs students of reasonable rules concerning
classroom procedures and behavior and maintains a safe and orderly classroom
environment.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance
assessments, which guide the learning process toward academic achievement and
curriculum goals.
- Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates these
objectives to the students.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students in a variety of ways on a regular basis and
provides progress reports as required.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, Diocesan
policy, and administrative regulations.
- Administers standardized testing as directed by the Diocese and analyzes standardized
testing data and adjusts instructional strategies, as needed, to maximize probability of
student success.
- Plans and coordinates the work of paraprofessionals, parents, and volunteers (e.g.,
college students) in the classroom and on field trips.
- Recognizes the diverse learning abilities of students, seeks the assistance
of corporation specialists, as needed and/or required, and makes appropriate
individualized physical and instructional accommodations within the classroom.
- Builds effective relationships with parents and students through regular
communication and is available outside the instructional day to students and parents
for education-related purposes, e.g., open house, conferences, extra-curricular
activities, etc.
- Participates in diocesan and school improvement goals including professional development.
- Fosters the spiritual development of students.
- Performs other work related duties as assigned

- Maintains a strong, regular personal attendance record.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Indiana teaching license in appropriate grade level/teaching area; or demonstrated eligibility to receive license.
- High level thinking skills.
- Ability speak and write coherently, fluently and grammatically correct English.
- Strong written, verbal presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
