What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Catholic Diocese Of Fort Worth?
General Position Summary: Performs maintenance, renovation, restoration, and upkeep of the building, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems and grounds.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Performs Needed Repairs or arranges for repairs as needed either by maintenance ministry volunteers or outside contractors or if replacement is necessary notifies/discusses with the Pastor.
- Performs a variety of installation, repair, and renovation to buildings including, but not limited to electrical fixtures and switches, changing out light fixtures, minor repair of some equipment including- electrical appliances, motorized equipment, sinks, commodes, hand basins, kitchen appliances, etc.
- Performs regular maintenance needs including but not limited to, roof cleaning, lawn care, painting and floor care, parking lot and walkway maintenance.
- Responsible for executing safety precautions to minimize security threats in the Church building by assessing/inspecting the entire building at the beginning of each work day for any security breach and at the end of each work day before locking/securing doors upon exiting the Church grounds.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work from ladders, adjust to height and close quarters, withstand heat and cold, good eye-hand coordination and flexibility.
Travel Requirements:
- Some travel required, up to 5%.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Mechanical Experience
- Plumbing Experience
- Electrical Experience
- Basic Carpentry Experience
- Masonry Experience
- Painting and Drywall Experience
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- Good mechanical / plumbing / electrical aptitude.
- On-call availability for emergencies.
- Great communication skills both written and verbal.
- Skills in critical thinking and planning.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable and organized.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to manage time and work with minimal supervision while maintaining a cooperative relationship with staff and parishioners.
Working Conditions
This position entails frequent evening and weekend work.
This is a part-time position (up to 20 hours a week) with an expected duration of one year, renewable at the discretion of the Pastor.
Shift hours are flexible. Target of 25-29 hours per week. No work on Sundays.
