Position: K-8 Music Teacher (Shared-Time)Employer: Brighton Public Schools (Placement at Saint John Vianney Catholic School in Wyoming, MI)Job Type: Long-Term Substitute or Permanent24-25 Schedule: Tuesdays: 8:30 AM 11:00 AMWednesdays: 10:00 AM 3:30 PMPosition Overview: Brighton Public Schools is seeking a passionate and qualified K-8 Music Teacher for a shared-time position at Saint John Vianney Catholic School in Wyoming, MI. This role is ideal for educators who love inspiring young musicians and fostering a love of music in students from kindergarten through 8th grade. We are open to either a long-term substitute or a permanent hire for this position.Responsibilities: Develop and implement engaging music lessons for students in grades K-8.Teach fundamental music concepts, including rhythm, melody, harmony, and notation.Introduce students to a variety of musical styles, instruments, and vocal techniques.Prepare students for potential performances, concerts, or school events.Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and creativity.Collaborate with school staff and administration to align music curriculum with educational goals.Qualifications (Per State of Michigan Requirements): Candidates must meet the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) qualifications for teaching music.
