What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lunch / Recess Monitors position at Catholic Diocese of Lansing?
St Joseph Catholic School is accepting applications to fill 3 part-time Lunch/Recess monitor positions for the 2024-2025 school year.
The hours will be from 11 am - 1 pm Monday through Friday.
The Lunch/Recess monitor provides support for the students including but not limited to: assistance with student supervision, lunchroom preparation, cleaning of the activity center, and lunchroom/playground duties. Safety and well-being of the students is the primary task of the role.
Candidates must be at least 19 years old with a high school diploma, preferably with childcare experience and must be someone who is of dependable, responsible, team-oriented character and have a passion for working with children of all grade levels from Kindergarten through grade 8.
They will engage with the children, as well as other staff members to provide a safe and active environment for the children to play and develop a healthy lifestyle. They will do so under the direction of the Elementary School principal and will carry out the expectations of the school.
St Joseph School follows the State of Michigan licensing requirements. The position is part-time. The following items are general expectations for this role:
- Be a positive representative of the school and the faith community.
- Enforce lunchroom and playground rules
- Discipline when needed
- Properly clean and sanitize the tables and floors
- Picking up and Serving food
- Follow confidentiality requirements regarding children and families.
- Complete background check, CPR/First Aid Training, complete Virtus Protecting God’s Children certification, and any other training as required by State of Michigan Licensing.
