General Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor oversees and supervises maintenance and janitorial personnel for the church, school, rectory and cemetery. Ensures that all aspects of maintenance and janitorial are done in a safe and effective manner. Make sure that general and detailed items are accomplished including the upkeep and repair of buildings, equipment, grounds and ground care, snow removal, inspections and reports. Make sure that the policies of Parish are enforced. Attend staff meetings and other meetings or functions as requested. This is an exempt position working 32-40 Hrs/Wk reporting to the Business Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares an annual facilities and maintenance budget.
- Instructs and monitors maintenance and janitorial staff in their tasks:
- Trains and reviews of employee performance.
- Establishes daily work assignments and approves employee time.
- Supervises and coordinates all maintenance and building care.
- Coordinates facilities for parish events.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for the entire plant.
- Ensures all records are kept up to date.
- Works with Business Manager on remodeling projects and long-range planning (facility capital expenditure plan and execution).
- Works with volunteers as directed by Business Manager.
- Obtains vendor quotes for all needed at Parish, Rectory and Cemetery.
- Maintain communication with appropriate people
- Attend weekly staff meetings and provides status of plant operations and maintenance.
- Communicates parish personnel policies with maintenance and janitorial staff.
- Maintains a channel of communication with Business Manager, Principal and Parish Staff.
- Updates business manager on contractor activity.
- Accompanies all inspectors (fire, elevator, boiler, fire extinguisher, etc)
- Works with parish committees as directed by the Business Manager.
- Perform as an operation technician
- Maintains buildings/equipment to provide effective operations within budget.
- Performs and records routine maintenance and repairs.
- Maintains file on equipment, plumbing, electrical, fire, including mandated inspections.
- Make sure asbestos inspections and reports are done twice a year and given to the Business Manager.
- Keeps the RIGHT TO KNOW information up to date and given to Business Manager as requested.
- Knowledge of both the mechanical and technical aspects of machinery
- Purchases supplies for maintenance and janitorial as needed.
- Maintains a cost-effective inventory of supplies within budgetary guidelines.
- Reviews/recommends supplier contracts to business manager.
- Verifies receipts and condition of supplies and deliveries.
- Attends seminars as requested by business manager or pastor.
- Review, validate and approval of all facility vendor invoices
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education:
High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
Experience:
At least 3 years of supervisory experience in related field. Previous maintenance experience. Basic computer skills.
Require:
Must have necessary mechanical skills, good interpersonal communication skills, ability to organize and prioritize time, ability to supervise others, maintain confidentiality and the ability to be flexible.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to move and load equipment and supplies that weigh 50 pounds or more. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and climb ladders. Emergency work may be required in the evenings and during weekends. Exposure to climate change, uncomfortable temperatures and fumes; work with machinery and equipment requiring considerable caution; frequent lifting and standing.
