St Thomas More Catholic School in Brookings, SD is seeking a full time Elementary Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
Job Description:
Promote the mission of St. Thomas Catholic School and model the teaching of the Catholic Church to partner with parents in the integral formation and education of students within a community of faith and academic excellence
Support the growth and development of students in their faith
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities aligned with school curriculum maps that encourage active learning and student participation
Monitor and evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback on assignments, and maintain accurate records of grades and progress
Foster a welcoming and disciplined classroom environment while supporting students through pastoral care, encouragement, and mentorship
Communicate regularly with parents, students, and staff regarding student progress and needs as well as attend parent-teacher conferences, school events, and departmental meetings to support the school community
Take responsibility for classroom resources and the school environment, including creating bulletin boards and managing supplies
Integrate relevant technology into teaching and stay up to date on new methods, resources, and developments in education to enhance instruction
Perform other duties as assigned
Reports to School Principal
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
Catholic in good standing with ability to be a spiritual leader of St. Thomas More Catholic School
State certification
Exhibit the core values of St. Thomas More Catholic School
Knowledge of relevant technology
Excellent verbal and written communication
Good problem solving and decision-making skills
Self-motivated with high energy
