Job Summary:
Sacred Heart School is seeking a Half Day Junior Kindergarten Catholic school teacher, who is excited to foster a positive, engaging and faith-filled learning environment, for the 2025-2026 school year. Ideal candidates will hold or be able to attain a South Dakota early childhood or elementary teacher certification. This position is part time.
Requirements
- Promote the mission of Sacred Heart School and model the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Support the growth and development of students in their faith
- Organize and maintain an early childhood classroom environment, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming space for students
- Prepare and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood curriculum using a positive and preventative approach to discipline, emphasizing redirection, encouragement, and fostering problem-solving skills
- Supervise and provide direction to instructional aides assigned to the junior kindergarten classroom and student learning
- Supervise children during all school activities and maintain a safe, nurturing environment
- Maintain open communication with parents through regular updates, conferences, and accessible channels.
- Maintain student attendance and cumulative records, ensure lesson plans are accessible for substitutes, and perform other duties as assigned
