Are you a dynamic, organized, and energetic individual who loves working with children and is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith? St. John Paull II’s Summer Academy in Mitchell, SD is looking for motivated teachers and aides for our exciting summer initiative!
Position Overview
As a teacher, you will be responsible for using pre-set curriculum from our St John Paull II school for a vibrant summer program that combines faith-based education, fun activities, and childcare services. Aides will assist the teachers and take the kids on afternoon adventures. The program runs from May 27 through August 8 for children ages 3-10. Mornings will be filled with fun learning pursuits and afternoons will consist of field trips and physical activities. These roles are ideal for those who thrive in educational settings and are ready to make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Teachers-adapt our new curriculum to fun summer activities/learning in our school building. No homework and no grading papers. Include arts and crafts, hands on learning, group activities, etc.
- Aides-assist teachers, take kids on field trips, and participate in physical endeavors. Events may include the pool, parks, library, local businesses, etc.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
- Teachers should have 1-2 years of training or experience in education, early childhood, etc.
- Aides should have some experience taking care of young children.
- Energetic, motivated, and fun attitude.
- Passionate about working with children and providing a safe, nurturing environment.
- Ability to pass a background check.
